Day 83/Day 1 of The Shred

Today was the first day I decided to try the 30 Day Shred. Holy Crap. My knees hurt and my arms are still shaking. This workout kicked my butt but it felt good. I would be lying if I said I can't wait to do it again but I can wait because it is the longest 20 minutes of my life. I will do it again & again & again. I am thinking that doing it with 5 lb. weights isn't the smartest idea when I broke & sprained both wrists but those are the only weights I have. I think if you do this video without stopping & move as fast as she does that you might see some good results. Only time will tell.

I had Chris measure me today so I can see where I stand after this is over. I also have decided that I will do the 30 Day Shred before breakfast then I will do another video before lunch. That way if Rachelle wants me to do the hip hop video with her then I am free and will get in even more activity. It's all about moving a lot more this year.

I made a Weight Watchers friendly meal tonight. It was Spicy Shrimp Fried Rice. I think I made it too spicy for Chelle but Chris and I loved it. I also did my Walk & Run video today. Drank the 48oz. of water. That was a hard one for me. When it is cold outside drinking is not easy but I did it! Day one down of that.

One thing that has really been on my mind is sagging skin. I am so worried about that. I mean I have stretched my skin further then it ever needed to be stretched. I am wondering if anyone has suggestions on exercise that I need to be doing now so that I can attempt to prevent it. If that is even possible. I am so worried about it. I do expect some but if there is anything that I can do to try and tighten it up I would love to know. I know slow and steady weight loss is one so I have that one down believe me. I am hoping the 30 Day Shred video might help also.

Hey girl-email me with any questions you have. I'd love to share.

And as far as the skin goes, that was a HUGE fear of mine as well. While I'd like to say I don't have any, the truth is I DO. But its nowhere NEAR as bad as I expected. It's surprising how well our bodies bounce back.

I did 30 days straight of the 30day shred sometime last year. I loved it. You'll be sore, but if you just keep it up the soreness goes away quickly.

That shred tape sounds awesome! Painful, but awesome! Just be sure not to hurt yourself... When Mike and I were running regularly I pushed myself too far too fast and ended up wearing a leg brace and hardly being able to even WALK for almost a month. Taking it slow and making sure not to injure yourself is more important than doing too much too soon and ending up stuck on the couch!

I asked my trainer about it. He said the only solution is surgery :(

Good to read you are motivated doing so well, keeping to your plans, you are a winner, having met you I can say that to you!!

Skin.
You are still VERY young and you are not THAT overweight ( I have seen you so once again can say this to you )Skin takes about a year to get itself sorted out, look at Ali from TBL..have you ever seen abs and arms like her's?? and she was double your size.
So dont fear that right now, get the weight off, get healthy and lose skin on abs can be hidden in clothing...
You will not end up with layers and layers of skin...obese people have a problem but you are NOT obese my dear Sarah.

I've nothing to add to Marcelle's comment about the skin.

Wauw Sarah this was a great day for you. I'm proud of you. And the shred gets easier. I've done level 1 now 10 times and have to start at level 2 which seems to be harder but we'll see.
